MARG BAGS THE PRESTIGIOUS "MMA AWARD FOR MANAGERIAL EXCELLENCE 2012"

Chennai, July 06, 2012 – MARG LTD, one of India's leading Infrastructure companies has bagged the prestigious "MMA Award for Managerial Excellence" (MAME 2012) in Services Sector. This award was presented to GRK Reddy, Chairman and Managing Director, MARG Group by Prof. Bhaskar Ramamurthi, Director – IIT, Madras at MMA's 56th Annual General Meeting. Also gracing the occasion were N. Srinivasan, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, The India cements Ltd, Mr Ravi Viswanathan, President MMA, Mr K. Kumar, Partner, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt Ltd and Mr Venky Rajgopal, Senior Vice President, MMA. MMA Awards are given to companies, institutions who have excelled in their business segment.

The MMA Award for Managerial Excellence to MARG comes in the wake of a rigorous due diligence by an independent jury comprising people with proven track record of excellence in their chosen fields. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt Ltd has been involved in the process of shortlisting the candidates by providing industry information and analysis of various submissions made by nominee companies/institutions.The selection was based on overall managerial excellence rather than on select functional areas of excellence. Therefore the judgment is based on the company's vision and goals and how managers have directed the various disciplines of management in a focused manner to meet or exceed the objectives set.

Madras Management Association (MMA) has instituted the Managerial Excellence awards with the objective of awarding excellence in managerial thinking, action and demonstrable results to companies and institutions from southern states of Tamil Nadu, Andra Pradesh, Karnataka, Puducherry and Kerala. The 4 categories for the awards are Manufacturing Sector, Services Sector, SME Sector and Educational Institutions.

An integral part of the Awarding process was the presentation by award winners on their managerial process of excellence that helped them win the Award, at a seminar organized by MMA preceding their Annual General Meeting. About 11th MMA Awards for Managerial Excellence 2012:

MMA Awards for Managerial Excellence are designed to recognize and reward companies and institutions that are broadly comparable. To this end, four Awards are given in the following categories:

Category A: Award for Managerial Excellence in Manufacturing Sector
Category B: Award for Managerial Excellence in Services Sector
Category C: Award for Managerial Excellence in SME Sector
Category C: Awards for Managerial Excellence in Educational Institutions.

The MMA Managing Committee has constituted an independent jury comprising people with proven track record of excellence in their chosen fields. The process of adjudication was facilitated by President MMA and a Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt Ltd representative. Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt Ltd has been appointed by MMA as a consultant to help in the process of shortlisting the candidates by providing industry information and analysis of various submissions made by nominee companies/institutions.
